D. John's Story
Life
My Spouse
First time around..classmates through high school..roomed with her steady first year of college; she just retired in March as a VP at Apple. Second time around..introduced by parents..were my second wife's landlords. She is a 33 1/2 year flight attendant with Northwest..we've been married for 25 of those years.
My Pets
My first pup..ernie..a mixed breed collie is on a farm somewhere outside of Lakewood..if she still survives. My second pup..sophie..is a four year old mini-schnauzer..a pup that my kids begged for over a 4 yr span..when the dad finally caved..we were blessed with the last great look at unconditional love in this hairy little daughter..dogs are people too!!
My Kids
My first born, Dan, 33,married 3 yrs, is working in Silicon Valley for one of the technology companies..and is a grad of U of Phoenix (after 10 yrs of stroking it). My second born, Eve, 22, is engaged and a 4th yr student at TX A&M Galveston, in Marine Biology. Still trying to match her old man's GPA. My "little guy", David, 14, 5'8",150lbs,size 12 1/2 hoofs, is now an 8th grader, loves school, soccer and baseball.
My Job

ll manner of OSHA mandated annual safety issues.
Five years later, retired with honor and a couple bucks from the airline, 'til they dissolve our pension plan, a'la United, and sashayed into Medical and Business Supply Sales partnership with a friend of 25 yrs, making a sunset run at a "real" retirement! Blessings to all us loyal Lancers! Peace and Love from St. Peter from St. Paul.
Military
Commissioned Navy Ensign in '69 after 4 yrs at UCLA/NROTC. Married Jackie Harris; 4 weeks later left for flight training in Pensacola, Fla. Designated Naval Aviator in Feb 71; assigned to Navy Moffett Field in Sunnvale, Cal, flying the P3-
C, then the Navy's newest long range patrol aircraft, chasing Russke subs all over the Pacific and up near the Kamchatka Peninsula, while deployed to Adak, Alaska and Agana, Guam. Shore tour was at Navy Memphis, first on the Chief of Naval Technical Training Staff, then assigned as Team Leader at the Navy Human Resource Management School at Navy Memphis. Earned Masters with Pepperdine while in Memphis. Left active duty in 1977, from Memphis. Granted Naval Reserve Retirement in 1997 as Lieutenant Commander (Major in Army, Air Force, Marines). Still appreciate an occasional salute when visiting military installations between here and Hawaii!!
